5th Wheel versus TT

We had to postpone our ordering of a TT due to changes in our current plans. With that said, we are now thinking that we may want to look at 5th Wheel as an option. It is just me and my wife and, at this point, we will be traveling July and August only. Can anyone share their experience and opinion on choosing either 5th Wheel or TT based on what I have shared. Thanks in advance for replies. Have a great day!

Sorry to say it, but with the "info you gave us" there is not much we can say between the two. Only being two people does not matter what you should get nor only traveling 2 months a year. There are couples who buy 45' DP's for just the two of them. It all really comes down to what you guys are comfortable with. TT's are generally going to cost less since there is less material. Being smaller, you can get them in and out or more places. However, 5th's to me are better IMPO, generally they have higher ceilings so you dont feel crammed in and they are more comfortable to tow having the weight put directly over the axle of the truck.

Let me ask you this...

What is your TV?
Will you be "full-timing" July-Aug or more like just weekends or one week on, one week off kind of thing?

The primary reasons we prefer TT...

We wanted 2 doors and many TT floorplans have 2 doors.
Pickup bed wide open.

We have both TT and 5th wheel hitches, so that didn't matter.
We've towed both TT and 5th wheels many miles and had no problems with either.
A minor consideration: More experience backing a TT.

EDIT: Like Flapper said (the other place you posted the same question), the TT height is less and floor is flat were also considerations for us buying a TT.

5th Wheel versus TT

As stated need more info. Biggest factor is what do you have for a tow vehicle? Next would be what do you want to spend? Typically 5th wheels are a little more expensive. If you have a pickup, do you want to give up your bed for a hitch for a 5th wheel? That was what kept me from getting a 5th wheel. I take a golf cart in the bed of my truck so a TT was necessary. And I don't want something the size of a 5th wheel toy hauler.

Other things to consider as well but those are a few...

Edit... thread posted in two locations. Maybe a mod can merge.
