A/C "chill grill" proper placement
For normal use, are the loovers supposed to be opened or shut?

For normal use the louvers are supposed to be closed. If you want to cool an area quickly, you open the louvers.

There doesn't seem to be cool air coming out from the middle part when the loovers are closed. It that that normal?
Better half asking, since she wouldn't take my word for it lol

If I recall isnt the middle the return for the AC? I close the loovers to direct more air volume to the ducts in order to distribute the cooling thought the trailer.

awwwweee! I see! lol
Well, the RV is very small, 26 foot total, what happens if we leave them opened a bit to have more cool air in the main area?
risk of hurting the unit or not?

Think of the louver as a door. When it is open you are allowing the cooled air out and very little air will go through the ducts. When it is closed you are forcing the air through the ducts to cool the whole RV. There is no damage done to the unit but the other rooms will not be cooled, and a bathroom with a skylight and vent can get pretty warm. I usually leave the louvers closed.

Thanks for the help, that explained it perfectly.
I opened them halfway, since the bath and bedrooms are so close by.

On our 26bh. Leave the liuvers closed and 100% goes to the ducted vents.
Open louvers and it dumps appx 50% of air right around the unit.
I generally use them when washing dishes if I'm hot.

Don't forget to clean the filter from time to time in the return. The high volume of air can clog it and reduce the output.

The filter gets dirty quickly in dusty areas or with dogs.

Normal use=closed which allows all the air to move through the ducts. To quickly cool down the main living area or where the AC unit is located, = louvers open.
