About to Leave! Little Green Light at Fuse Panel Not Flashing

We are packing up to leave for a few days tomorrow and the fridge is not cooling. Trying to trouble shoot and noticed the little light is not flashing by the fuses like I think it is supposed to. Plugged in at home. Battery should be full as it has been on a tender since our last trip.

Fuses are good, breakers are on. What could be wrong?

Also, propane full and hooked up. Neither the auto nor check lights on fridge are illuminated.

Check the 12v fuse for the fridge in your converter / panel. Even if you have 110v power available, the fridge won't function without 12v power.

Well, crud, now that I take the time to re-read what you first posted, you mentioned that you've already checked the fuses. Is the fridge turning on (light inside is on, able to switch between gas / AC, etc)?

There doesn't appear to be power to fridge. Light inside is actually NOT on. No lights are on on the outside either. It is confusing but only light on outside is on when on auto but no lights supposed to be on when switched to gas only.

Okay, think I fixed it. Apparently there are TWO fuses to the fridge. One green 30 amp and a smaller blue 15 amp at bottom which was blown. Little green light infuse panel still not blinking though. Hmmm....Don't know how much that matters.

It sounds like the you are getting some sort of response when you push the mode button (green light on auto?). Does your fridge have a display and, if so, are any codes showing, or is it blank?

Ahh, ok. The 30 amp should be the connection between the 110v and 12v sides. The 15 amp fuse should be for the 12v fridge line.

The blinking green light you are referring to - is it on the converter itself (i.e. with the breakers and fuses)? If so, that's likely your battery charging indicator.

Our fridge must be a very basic model.

No display. Fridge appears good now as light on inside is on and auto light on outside is now on as well.

Little green light is in fuse panel. It is called the "charge wizard."

Yep, that's your house battery charger. If you're plugged in (and have batteries connected), it should be blinking - frequency of the blink depends on the charge state of the batteries.

Glad the fridge is working - tough to camp without one! Have a great trip!

We are plugged in and have battery connected but still no blinking....

Just a suggestion, but you might want to unplug from shore power and make sure you have 12v power coming from the batteries. On our coach, that green light is always blinking at some rate while we're plugged in (either charging or maintaining). Given the blown fuse on the fridge, you may have something strange going on there.

Thanks, yes I did that. We have battery power. Lights turned on and ran fan in bathroom for a while without issue. Luckily this trip we have full hookups.

Check the voltage at the batteries.

Unplugged from Shore (AC) power they should be at 12.7 or less.
Plugged into Shore (AC) power they should read 13.2 to 14.4 depending on the mode of the charger.

This all assumes normal flooded cell batteries.

If these voltages are found, your charger is working, but the LED is out.

If you dont get the 13.2 to 14.4 when plugged in then your charger isn't working. Perhaps its blow a fuse. I've always found PD's support to be awesome, call them.

We're getting 13.08 on the one battery still connected to trailer but unplugged from TV and shore.

One that we already disconnected testing at 12.7 unplugged.

I did not see a fuse specifically for charging wizard. (Green flashing light) Is that what you meant? What would fuse be labeled as?

The little green light is not a fuse, it is an indicator light that shows the state of the charge wizard.
The newer PI converters have it built in to the unit, on the older converters it was a small extra plug in that cost $25 bucks.

They worked the same way.

just an FYI, if you open the outside access panel to the Frig, you will locate a 120V outlet the frig plugs into. You can unplug the frig and test the outlet in the future if you think your having shore power issues. This outlet, typically is gfi protected through the daisy chain out of the bathroom. Also look at the back side of the frig. there is a circuit panel back there with another fuse. I do not recall the size of it, but it is a tiny micro fuse, maybe 5 amp?? I have looked for a spare one a few times and have never located any. I would hate to pop that fuse. The water heater also has a similar fuse, maybe 1 amp. Also the Radio has a fuse behind it too, do not recall the size, but I think it was an old school style glass tube fuse. Moral of the story, there are a lot of fuses hidden in our tts.

How common is it for the led to be out already in a 2016 model trailer? Dealer said same thing. We had shore power this trip but won't next trip in a few weeks. Don't want any surprises.

As far as fridge we looked for pinched wires on outside of tt fridge panel and didn't find any. Husband said fuse popped again when he was bringing in awning and held button a second longer after awning was all the way in. Is that normal?

The 13.08 sounds like a fully recharged battery shortly after being taken off the charger. Now plug in the shore cord and see what the battery voltage reads, should be higher, meaning the charger is working.

No idea what it would be labeled as. I would call PD. It may be working (based on the battery charge level you had) and the LED is just out.
