Local Walmart and Home Depot near my home (the entire property is owned by Walmart) have banned overnight parking of RV's and tractor trailers. The issue with the semis was owner operators parking rigs there because they can't park them at their homes. The RV 'camping'? Well , the bags of discarded garbage and trash left behind in the parking lot explained everything.......

I don't think any campground would let you dump water on the ground. I know none of the state or federal parks I have been in allow any water to be dumped. I'm quite sure private would not either. Imagine if everyone did that in a parking lot, the soap scum that would accumulate.

What right is that? The right to be inconsiderate, selfish and ruin a good thing for others who use the place correctly?

Please let's move on as none of us want yet another Wal-Mart thread 'closed'. I really learn from the information shared - but I avoid postings headed for a 'rat hole'.

I think this may up being the last straw....(warning, video is graphic)

Video shows Gaver fight scene at Cottonwood Walmart - The Verde Independent - Cottonwood, Arizona

The last line in the article reads..... "Since the fight, the Cottonwood Walmart store has posted a "No Camping" sign at the entrances"

That video is disturbing and shocking on so many levels. Vagrancy in these parking lots needs to come to an end.

Seriously, camping at a Walmart, or any other facility that was opened to sell goods, and not opened to camping in mind? What's next? Bring the family to go swimming at a pool and spa store? Taking a nap at a mattress store?

Geez, if setting up a site at a Walmart is some folks idea of camping, this is truly sad.

And we think they are ruining our camping because we cannot stay at a Walmart?

To correct you, I don't think anyone said it was ruining camping. It was ruining the ability for people use the Walmart to stay overnight. To camp? No. Let's be real. But unless you are Superman, it is awfully hard to drive from say Chicago Illinois to Yosemite without a few nights of rest along the way. And Walmart provides an inexpensive way to do that.

The stories I've been able to find are not clear on exactly where the shooting occurred, but witness accounts seem to make it sound like it happened inside the store at 1:00 AM.
