I put a set of Firestone Ride-Rite bags on my old Class A motorhome. The worked very well and were trouble free for almost 10 years.

I wanted to add a little ride height to the rear and stiffen the rear springs.

What vehicle are you thinking about putting them on?

I did have them on my F-250 They were Great also Firestone. I installed them had to drill acouple holes (I think) I think they are well worth the $ money. When empty the ride was better too. I traded that truck in on my Black Pig.

Hope this helps Wayne

I say go for the Firestone Ride-Rites. They will do the job and live up to your expectations.

I was an RV Transporter and had a Ford F350 dually. I added the Firestone Ride Rite with the onboard compressor with the cab mounted control head.

It allowed me to transport the heaviest fivers and goose necks.

When empty, it was also fun to raise and lower the left then right side of the bed or cause both to go up and down while stopped at raffic lights. It was always grat to watch the expresions in the car behind me.

If you gop for it, make sure to get a separate controller for each side. If the pressure is equalized on both sides, then when making curves, all the air will flow to the opposite bag and that makes for a suddenly dangerous sway.

I installed Timbrens SES units on my previous Tow Vehicle and installed Timbrens SES on my new vehicle. And, will be installing Timbrens SES in our future replacement vehicle as well. Timbren SES units are like air bags without pressurized air inside them. Simply install them and leave them. And best part of all, no air leaks to worry about. And, they are 1/2 of cost of Air Bags. For more details, surf: http://www.timbren.com/ses-kits.htm

For picture of Timbrens installed in our current vehilce, see below picture.

Hope this helps in your research....

With all the firewood I haul on a utility trailer with a standard 2" ball I rarely even get the truck to sit on the overload springs in back...

With the TT its like its not there...

Never even considered it...

If wondering, one can install Timbren SES units themselves. re: http://www.timbren.com/ses-kits.htm For their suspsension improvement system, there's NO drilling. Simply remove the factory "hard rubber" bump stops and replace with over sized rubber blocks. On a leaf spring system (like my previous Tow Vehicle), a simple 5/8" wrench allowed me to complete their install under 20 minutes.

For picture of Timbrens SES units on a Tow Vehicle (which was leaf spring system), see below picture.

Thanks Spike, I was considering air bags because our hitch weight will be around 1100# on our new trailer and I plan on hauling our Rhino in the truck bed. My one ton single rear wheel truck will need a little help. I had not seen a pic of a trimbrin and I like what I see.

My truck could use Timbrens. These newer half tons ride great but are prone to squat bad when loaded because of the softer springs to accommodate that car like ride. The older half tons rode more like a truck but had more springs in the leaf pack to carry weight.

I ordered a set of Timbrens from E-trailer and installed them, easy install. Have since carried a load of firewood and the Timbrens did the job, reducing squat and supporting the load nicely. The ride unloaded is unaffected as the Timbrens clear the axle by about an inch with no weight in the truck.

Do you mind me asking how much they cost? I have a Ford Excursion, and see that they sell them, but can't find costs anywhere.

Awesome - thanks for the help. If I'm just trying to correct some sag while towing, I just need the rear - right?

I only installed the rear Timbrens for the same reason. You`ll still get some squat as the weight comes on because the Timbrens clear the axle by about an inch unloaded, but not as much. And the ride feels more solid when loaded now. Maybe one of the guys that installed the front ones can chime in on the benefits of those.

P.S typing in this referral code saved me 5% or about 10.00 on checkout- RMN07A

I installed an Air Lift Ride control system which I can inflate as necessary.
