Anode ? or No anode?

All of my previous trailers/fifth wheels came with anode rods in the water heater. And while reading owners manual of my Jayco, it mentions anodes.

My question, anyone install one? Or have most just used the nylon plug?

Thank you!

more input:

Atwood = Aluminum (plastic plug)
Suburban = Stainless (anode)

Wouldn't it be convenient if was the reverse (Atwood needs anode)? ie: A>A>A but it ain't

IF it does not have an anode from the factory then don't put one in...

During my PDI last fall, I saw the plastic plug on the HW tank and asked where the anode was. "No anode on Atwood Water Heaters" was the reply.

But had your previous water heater been a Girard tankless, you'd loooooove that Suburban!

Would rather a Truma. Not a suburban fan. Just me, but I gotta work on all this stuff too.
