Another winterizing question

I have a new Jay Feather X213 and I'm trying to winterize it. The issue I've come up against is that the water heater does not have a 3 valve system, only 2 valves and the manual has nothing about that at all (why do the even bother to waste the paper on it????). There is the incoming line, outgoing line, and a connecting line between them about 6 inches from the in and out ports. I know that I'm supposed to close both valves, but I don't actually know what is open or closed and how it all works (we bought the TT new in early October and never got a chance to use it). There is no winterizing hose or system so I have to work from the fresh water tank. I just want to make sure that I don't get an antifreeze in the tank if possible.

The system should be fairly empty, since we have never added water to it, and I'm hoping to not have to add any just to figure this out. (I did a low pressure blowout and just heard some gurgling, but no water came out anywhere, and the tank and low point drains are dry). I have already pinked the drains for sink and shower.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Look closely at the lines connected to your water heater. The hot water out (top of the tank) may have a check valve on it.

If yes, close the cold water to the bottom of the tank and open the bypass (linking the top and bottom). Open the drain on the WH.

Do a quick search on here for pictures. Jayco is now using 2 3-way valves for the bypass on some new TT's. Came up about a month ago, and the owner posted pictures. The HWT is bypassed when both valve handles point at the bypass line, and is in operation when the valve handles are inline with the in/outflow lines of the HWT.

This was my best guess. I'll try to find the thread you refer to.

Just winterized my 2017 27DSRL. As you mentioned the new trailers have a different 2 valve configuration. The top line out of mine has a 3 way valve as well. The valve handle is hidden on the back side. After I figured that out it was no problem. Sorry the pic came in sideways.

That looks like the one on my 2017 X213. Thanks.

Update: I found the water pump and it is set up for winterizing so I should be good to go. Thanks to everyone for putting up with my ignorance.
