Any dispersed camping near Palm Spring, Ca?

Hello all,

My family will be going camping near Palm Springs around Christmas week. We will be visiting my parents at their gated community and won't actually be spending much time in the trailer.

We want to avoid being packed in like sardines on a concrete parking lot like many commercial campgrounds are in in Palm Springs. We also have a generator and enjoy dry camping.

Any dispersed options near Palm Springs/Palm Desert? Anyone own a piece of farmland, actually desert, where we can crash?

Thanks.

Ensign.

There are several casinos in the PS area you can drop anchor at for FREE. Just go inside and get a players card and ask if it is OK Most say YES..

I looked on www.boondockerswelcome.com and www.freecampsites.net and the closest I saw was Casino Morongo near Cabazon. There are other places in the mountains, but none that I saw were close. I have not stayed at Casino Morongo since they moved the spot for campers so I can't say how it is. We do go through there a lot, but it is not really close to Palm Springs. Good luck on your hunt.
