Any suggestions on where to lubricate?

I lubed mine from the roof, had to remove something but I forget now what it was. I do remember spraying silicone down the antenna shaft. In time they will leak if the seal goes bad. Not sure if I did it right or not, perhaps another will chime in.

You should lubricate the gears several times a year with silicone spray. There is a small black cap that you can pry up and spray down the hole, and there is a cap that has to be removed with a wrench. Just give it a good spraying 3 or 4 times a year. Crank the antenna up to do the maintenance.

We had our Prowler tt for 13 years and the antena was never lubed. We never had a problem with it.

Never had to lube ours yet but really dont use it very much. I periodically run it up just to check its operation. BTW, GO SKINS!

Lubed mine for the first time last fall. It wouldn't retract after being extended, so I shot it with some WD40 and called it a day. I seldom use the antenna though, because I don't often watch TV camping.

Ditto on the limited use, but ours is 9 years old, two owners, and antenna never lubed as far as I know. No squeaking or other noise. Also, X10 on the GO SKINS, exjay1 !!

I recently had my antenna caught up in a tree. Yep I forgot to retract it leaving a site. I replaced the two metal arms that got bent extracting it from the tree. You wouldn't believe how flimsy they are. Home depot has aluminum ones that fit great and are much stronger.(and cheaper). That's when I notice the cap you remove to lube it. It is also in the manuel.

Unscrewed this cap and sprayed some silicone down in there. Raised it up and down a few times.

Wish the PO of our rig had done that. Instead, they managed to mostly strip the hex-shaped shaft that the crank attaches to. The crank setscrew machined itself a slot all the way 'round. Now I gotta figure out how to get the crank to firmly engage the shaft. Sigh...

What if you get a new handle and just drop it down a fraction of an inch on the shaft?

Good suggestion, NACSKINS. The whole thing is pretty chewed up, but I may be able to do that. I was also thinking maybe I could carefully file the shaft back into a hex shape that would give the setscrew something to ride on. The other thing that would be better would be a metal handle that would allow me to really crank down on the setscrew. The plastic handle's threads won't take much tightening, I'm afraid. Wonder if Winegard makes a metal version...?

I'm not sure if they do or not. I had to have our original handle replaced because the nut was stripped. Was told its a pretty common problem. If it happens again after the warranty I will likely just fashion my own more sturdy version.

Just drill a dimple into the `D' flat in the middle of the score mark. That will give the set screw something to bite into.
