At what point do you cancel the trip?

I've never lived in Texas, but we have our share of tornadoes, hail, and foul weather here in Illinois, too. I watch the weather, right up until the day of departure. If they are calling for any severe weather (tornado possibilities), I stay home. If they are calling for a high probability of rain all weekend, I also stay home - simply because I don't want to pay a campground fee to sit inside and watch TV, burn the propane, and not have the ability to sit by the fire. I'll save my money for a weekend I can get outside the trailer and enjoy camping. That was doubly so when the kids were with us - they would eventually run out of constructive things to do and would get cranky about just sitting inside.

Here in Vancouver if you do not go out in the rain. You will never get out. I have run into snow in May on some camping trips , The rain sound good on the top of the trailer.
