Auto Awnings, Cleaning

We have a 2016 Pinnacle with an electronic awning. We do bring it in whenever we are not camping. However, I can't figure out how to clean it? It is rather loose even when fully extended and it is very high, roughly 10-11 feet up. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean it? We can get on the roof to clean the top of it, but I can't figure out how to clean the bottom side. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I have a Dometic and I can pull each side down and hold it with a tension knob on each arm. It helps make it just a little easier but its still a pain...

Make a solution of hot water, dawn dish soap and bleach.
Take a paper cup and throw it on underside of awning and then on top of awning.
Close awning and let soak about 15 minutes. Rinse

You may have to do it a couple of times...........not too much scrubbing however

Thats is a pretty funny image but i am sure will work... Doing it at a camping might get some looks. You should use a red dixie cup though... ha ha

I always zip-tied a car wash mitt to an old broom to reach up into the underside of our old manual awning. The electric awning we have now is a bit higher up, but still reachable with the soft RV wash brush in its extended position. But you're gonna get wet, so wear appropriate clothing. Or do it in your birthday suit if you prefer. Just no video, please.

use half Clorox half water, put in a spray bottle, spray underneath, roll up for 30 minutes, unroll and rinse with a water hose. No scrubbing needed!

Be sure and protect your eyes, head and clothing when using cleaners or bleach by any of these methods. As others have said, you WILL get wet...

I've always used a telescopic car wash brush like pictured below. The one time I didn't have it, I found that using Clorox wipes worked really well too. Using the wipes kept me drier, but it was a lot more work.

Our awning usually comes pretty clean with regular car wash soap.

Yeah, we've always used car wash soap, too. Bleach cannot be good for the material the awning fabric is made of. And the brush is what I've used the last 10 years or so. Lot of work, but only has to happen a couple times a year at the most.
