Awing Power question

is the 12Vs that powers a power awning supplied by the House battery or Chassis battery? My awning is very sluggish and sometimes will not retract immediately. House battery shows full charge, chassis battery is only at 71 percent.

Thank you

Awning power is provided by the house battery. My Carefree awning is very slow also. I think it's the nature of the beast.

You need to keep your chassis battery hooked up to Battery Tender or Battery Tender Junior or it will go down too far to start the rig. It only takes a month or less for parasitic draw to kill the chassis battery.

Thank you Hoppers4. I am charging both batteries to full capacity then I will check it again...My awning has always been slow, however seems extremely slow now. The left side (non motorized side) hangs up, and I have to manually pull it out to get it to extend...if its not the battery, then I have an issue with the left side arms I am suspecting.

Yeah, that sounds about right if it's the left side that is giving you a hard time. Could be in need of lube or the arm(s) got bent a bit.

They are very slow at going up after a short while.. Mine I had to help with a gentle push while someone held the switch in..

We have found that lubricating the awning arms with silicone spray at all joints helps the awning retract more smoothly and somewhat faster.
