OK so I see two light sets mentioned in this thread. Is there any difference in the two other then one is 32.99 and the other is 38.99?

I've got two more questions.

1) How long are the cords for these things?

2) The awning arm for my 28DSBH is right next to the front storage door where I have the mini fridge option. Does anyone know if the outlet that the mini fridge plugs into has a spare plug I can use for these lights? That would make for a very nice, clean install if it does!

I have been just using the rope lights and I have small holes drilled into the aluminum strips to support the lights up on the inside of the awning. I have to mount these every time we put out the awning. I always have a box full of small tie wraps of some sort so use them to hold up the lights.

Of course when we get ready for transport i have to snip out all of the tie wraps. If you hit a camp site with a bunch of tie wraps laying on the ground it was probably me there the night before hehe... I try to pick all of them up but probably miss a bunch...

The warm white strip lights shown here sounds like a better way. I believe I could leave those in place on my awning. Doesn't make any difference to me whether they are 120VAC or 12VDC. My setup has 24/7 Inverter going for outside lighting...

The rope lights however are perfect for us and give just the right amount of soft light under the awning. They are also bug free.

Thanks for the tip on the strip lights - I might give them a try as well...

Look at the very first post of the thread. These are the ones I ordered. I still haven't got down to the TT to install though.

Glad to finally see some live shots of what these are going to look like installed. Still think I'm going to install mine on the side of the camper as opposed to on the awning tube. Would use the awning tube, but often times I don't mess with extending it out and I would still like to have use of the lights.

Just ordered 2 sets! 1 for us and 1 for either our daughter or a friend. Once we bring the camper up from the pole barn, I will get them installed! Going to try and wire them in with the camper 12V supply.

You have a valid point there. Often at night I put my awning in, and if they are mounted on the awning tube, then no lights. Now you have me rethinking my install as well. Maybe 2 sets, one for each?

I have been looking over the various options available in these LED light strips and reading the reviews of many and came across one that caused me to take note. One reviewer noted that the strip he purchased had only 30 LED's per meter, and that for the same money he could have gotten 60 LED's per meter. This got me to looking closer at what was available. I did locate one set that does offer 60 LED's per meter(and yes they are the same size bulb). They do dim as well so if you think they may be too bright, you can turn them down. Here is a link to those if you are interested. http://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Fle...I1B3QNSWFB01MP

The more LED's per foot the brighter the strip will be. I opted to mount on the awning instead of the side of the RV under the awning in the event the 3M tape stopped holding the strip. That way I wouldn't loose it going down the highway. The ones I got can be dimmed and are color changing.

This is a great find for those looking for brighter lights... had they been available last fall when I first bought mine I probably would have bought them That being said, now that i have the 150 light kit installed (actually 140 or so since i had to cut the last 2 feet off), they are plenty bright. Even at our campsite here in Myrtle Beach they easily shine brighter than the other sites around us.

Thanks drfife for the posting on these lights. I ordered a 16.4FT 5M 5050 RGB SMD LED Waterproof Flexible Strip 300 LEDs w/24 Key IR Remote yesterday from Amazon. Now where do I send your commission?

For the Canadian members here, you have to order through amazon.ca as they won't ship from the States. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.ca/16-4FT-Waterpro...e-Strip-Remote. The price was $37.71(cdn) including shipping. Because we will be using an add-a-room I've decided to install them on the trailer wall just under the awning mount. Looking forward to putting on some disco music, getting my leisure suit out of mothballs and partying with the lights on strobe. It won't be a pretty picture but it will be fun. I'll try and post some pictures after the install (of the lights, not leisure suit larry in action that is).

Mine came in today as well... My plan is to mount them on the awning bracket against the trailer pointing down so the light up the front of the trailer. I also plan to drill a hole in and run them into the control panel inside, put a switch in there and power them with 12v. Maybe instead of drilling a hole, run them through the outside light to the inside. Will let you know how they come out.

I'm sure you will enjoy the lights.

Thanks for the recognition, that's commission enough.
