You got it! Cut on the center of the line so you can splice if needed.

Awesome, thanks! Also do I cover the cut end with anything? Electrical tape?

I would heat shrink it if possible, just something to keep the water out.

I feel bad for you waiting that long. My first set arrived after about 2 days, I had to return them (think the power supply died after trying to splice a 4' section to the end), got my refund, ordered another set, and they should be there when I get home.

I did not but probably should have. I read somewhere that the gel coating (assuming that you bought the waterproof LED strips) is supposed to be sealed so that moisture cannot seep in,even after being cut. But i doubt they expected anyone to mount them to their camper awnings

Those don't look like the waterproof ones. Do they have a piece of "thick" silicone type stuff covering everything? If not, I wouldn't use those on the awning.

Yep,
I tried to make sure I ordered through Amazon and a US supplier. I got mine in 2 days.
I had to cut mine and just folded a piece of electrical tape over the end and made one wrap around awning tube.
I also put one tie wrap at each end like other posters.

Best regards,
Doug

Like I said before, I installed mine last year. I made a mistake when I installed mine of unrolling it 2 or 3 times before I installed them. I apparently broke one of the connections. Half my set quit working. I tried the repair "clips" but they didn't like the waterproof coating even though I bought the ones for the waterproof. I also tried soldering the connection. Didn't work. I got tired of fighting it and I also wanted the 44-key remote since mine only came with a 22 or 24 key remote. I ordered my new set the other night from Amazon. My set just now also left SHENZHEN.:hihi: Guess they are all on that boat together. Not expecting delivery until May 10th - 19th. That is fine, not in that big of hurry anyway, another other stuff to do.

1) It's hard not to play with new toys
2) Delivery could take longer than expected due to Pacific storms :lightning:

Ordered mine yesterday! Apparently the new ones (2014) will come with this type of lighting. Yeah Jayco!
