Awning Mat
What is everyone using for an awning mat?
I have a 6x8 indoor/outdoor carpet that is a hold over from our tent camping days. It works and stores nicely, but gets very dirty and is a PIA to clean. We were thinking it would be nicety have some sort of a mat, little larger, easier to clean, and light weight.
Let us know what you are using.

We picked up a nylon woven rv mat at walmart. It's very nice..water just goes right thru it...nice not to have to deal with a wet mess to fold...

We have a poly-something or another 9x12 mat from Walmart. It's very lightweight & refolds easily & doesn't retain water either. It can easily be swept with a regular broom. I know I paid under $50 for ours, which is brown, not blue.

I picked up a couple of inexpensive outdoor rugs from Costco...I think they are 10x12 or so and were like $25 each. They are made out of recycled plastic bottles so they dry quickly.

We use indoor outdoor carpet that is grey in color. It is 6x20 and we never have a hard time to keep it clean. Before we roll it up after using it, the wife and I flip it over and shake it out real good. We have been using this for 5 years now and it works great for us. It is a little longer than the awning. We did have my mother sew around the edge so we didn't have to worry about fraying.

We just pickup a black plastic mat, no weave to it at all, it is about 27” wide and 60” long, from Target. It is easy to clean, broom it off or hose it down. Rolls up small.

Got one off of eBay, it's nylon weave. Daughters accidentally dropped nail polish on it (then fought over who did it leaving it to dry) and I was still able to get it off. Very easy to clean.

I got indoor/outdoor carpet from menards. It is maroon and matches my decals and truck perfectly. 6x12 for $36. Also when it gets really dirty I gang it up and beat the dirt out of it. When I'm home I also shop vac it if its really dirty.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I was hoping for a consensus...but I guess that never could be the case on something as taste specific as an awning mat.

I bought my 9X18' awning mat from RV Awning Mats years ago ( http://www.rvawningmats.com/).
It still looks great.
If you order, also get their bag. http://www.rvawningmats.com/rvmats/p...Mat-19p916.htm
I tried outdoor carpeting when I first started RV'ing. They are heavy and stinky if (when) they get wet.

Lowes has the green stuff on a 12' roll for about fifty cents a square foot. So if you can 12xsomething just have them cut it the length of 'something'. Or trim it if you need something smaller.
