Awning repair

So while getting my TT ready for the season (Live in Wisconsin) I noticed several cracks in the awning on the top of the roll. The TT is a 2010 and I was surprised at the amount of weather related distress to it. The first outing had a good amount of rain and as expected a good amount of water on the wrong side of the awning. I know I will have to replace it soon however, I was wondering if anyone has used Eternabond tape on the vinyl for this. My intent is to take a 6" piece and run it across the top of the awning on the topside to seal it up and hopefully prevent some leaks for a season or two. Once the awning is rolled up the tape would be on the outside of the roll right up against the mounting channel and I don't think any will be inside the roll. Thoughts?

I had a similar situation but the only deterioration was on the edge up near the top of the awning. The stitching was starting to rot so I put EternaBond on the edge and it has held up well for the past year. The only problem I had is that I wrapped it around the outside edge and the part that rolled up has gotten a bit sticky on the edges but it does work. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I don't think you have anything to lose.

They make a clear awning repair tape. Should be available at your dealer Wally ,World may have it to.

I put Eternabond on our awning on the old TT as it was cracking. This was a 2005 and added the Eternabond in 2011, I believe. Sold it like that. Was still working, but the rest of the awning was getting brittle and the new owner knew the replacement would have to happen soon. But that tape bought 5 years......
