bbq to disposable propane not direct line?

I know someone out there will have the answer : )
I want to connect my bbq that came with the jayco 1007 to a small disposable tank. I do not want to use the direct connection to the camper. Can anyone tell me what to call the connector piece that I need? Everywhere I go, the clerk thinks I want to connect the other way.

Repeat: I want to connect a bbq that has a direct connection hose to a small disposable tank. Can I do it?
Thanks.

I m sure you will need a regulator. I run mine with a 20lb tank thru a regulator to the grill.

Thanks but no. Our bbq is prepared to connect to a quick coupler on the camper. Therefore it needs a collar connection to screw onto a tank. But I can't find something like that.

Gotta have a regulator ahead of your quick connect.

Just put a qc on the regulator output. That is what you have on the trailer.
I bought the connector from my dealer.

Sorry I don't understand. I only have an input on the bbq. The bbq is set up to use with the direct line from the camper (quick coupler only). I want to receive propane from a portable tank NOT the direct line from the camper. I need something that connects from a portable tank (so, a collar with threads inside) to the BBQ (which has a receiver for a quick coupler).

He isn't asking about how to connect to a standard tank though, he wants to connect to one of the small disposable tanks.

Yaluyg, Why don't you want to use the tanks on your trailer? Much more convenient. Are you wanting to take the RVQ over to a picnic table or somewhere remote from the TT? I went to a propane dealer and had a custom 30' hose made for the quick disconnect. That has been enough distance from the TT for my needs, maybe you want to take it even further away.

Good luck, you may need to create your own adapter from parts.

I ended up with the hose that sask934 referenced and a small 5 lb propane tank. I had trouble finding a female adapter to screw onto the small 1 lb cylinders. The 5 lb tank isn't much bigger and just as portable.

Your trailer's propane has a regulator and you will need one if you are connecting your bbq to a stand alone propane tank.

This will work. Might be more than you're looking for though.

That is likely the best price you will find unless you have some of the stuff on hand.
