Be careful out there

Worst ever only a couple of miles from my house. Headed home after getting minor engine repair at local Ford dealer. That's my MH sneaking by the mess. Caught on camera by the local news chopper.

Surprised to see the windshield smashed out like that - was it a deer strike, or just lost control? Can't believe how the cable safety rail has carved right into the TT.

My guess on the busted windshield would be personnel removal. One of the problems with these things is that there's never a follow-up to really know what happened. Follow-up would be nice as a "lessons learned" to other folks if applicable.

Folks don't realize what can happen in an instant. Hope everybody is ok. I do think it's pretty cool that your MH got in the picture. Clear case of you being in the right place at the right time and the poor guy on his side being in the wrong place at the wrong time...

I couldn't help but feel for the folks involved. However, I'm guessing they are OK as there was some other pictures of the mess with them standing around looking on in disbelief. The ambulance came up to the scene with lights on and left in no hurry without lights.

Last time I saw a travel trailer do that, it was in pieces all over the place. Looked like a flat bed with a toilet mounted on it, with debris everywhere. I couldn't only tell it was a travel trailer by the toilet and the type of debris.

That one looks like a pretty tame "flop" compared to it...

I would expect that if they had seatbelts on, they walked away with only bruises.

I'm glad the people were ok.

Anyone else thinking that the 1/2 ton Tundra was a little under sized for that TT?

Hard to say what happened without more info. Weather, speed, tires, WD system, driver error/fatigue, trailer overloaded, truck overloaded, actions of another driver, animal impact, could be one or more of these or........

Really? It's an F-150 and that is an ultra-light trailer. Who knows what happened.

Wowzers. That stinks. He's also facing the wrong direction so whatever happened must've been violent enough to spin him around like that.

I'm pretty sure it was a very rough ride for all involved!

I suppose it could've been any number of the genders out there these days. [emoji12] Was just meant as a generalization because a pronoun was needed.

Speed, speed, speed - The number one culprit with distracted driving a close second. We see people flying down the interstate every time we drive. We had a dozen or more towing trailers fly by us at 70-80mph. You have no response time if anything goes awry. This is only compounded by over-matched and/or poorly hitched tow vehicles.
