bedroom tv install

I have decided to mount a new 22" Samsung LED TV to our Eagle HT 23.5 today
I got a fixed bracket because we don't need the tv swivelling anywhere else, the only place we'll be watching this is in bed.
I hope I did ok, I have never really used a drill before, I didn't have a stud finder, so I went by Jayco's sticker on the wall for the stud and the sound of my tapping on it.
here's pictures of the install, I hope I did ok, the screws are sticking out in the cupboard... is that going to be ok, or do I need to take it off and re-install? the TV feels solid on the wall

I would measure the part of the screw sicking out then remove them one at a time and cut off and reinstall. Otherwise it looks good.

I don't know much about this at all, will removing the screws, cutting them to fit and putting them back in not make it looser?

Doing one at a time will prevent the bracket from becoming loose. the extra screw protruding is doing nothing so cutting it off wont hurt anything. Of course if it doesnt bother you then you could leave them alone.

it is not "really" bothering me other than it's less than perfect (screws are way out of reach and out of the way)
that's what happens when you spend 21 years with the military!
Wish I had thought of putting a piece of wood inside the cupboard
this isn't over, going over to my dad's this weekend, he might have a little piece of wood stained just the right colour

Boubou, I think it's great that you did this yourself and never have used a drill before. You gotta start at some point in time and it's never too late to learn. If it feels sturdy I agree with you that you can loosen it up by taking them out and reinserting them. The next time you do something like this you will have this experience to draw from. The factory inserts a piece of material where the decal is so the screws have something to bite into. Get creative and hang something to cover up the screws. I've seen some people put a piece of tape around a drill bit when they only want to drill so far into a piece of wood. Glad you shared your project with us.

I should have thought about the thickness of the wall
I wonder what kind of material Jayco puts in the wall where the TV is. There is no wood shaving in the cupboard. I only drilled partway and then inserted the screws and screwed them in with the drill all the way. It felt like there was resistance, and like I said, the bracket feels really solid, not flimsy at all.

If it ain't broke don't fix it

Maybe put a rubber cap over each screw end so no one gets jabbed?

If someone was to get a scratch from these screws, he/she'd have to be 8 foot tall lol
I like the rubber cap idea for a cleaner look tho

When I installed out bracket I used bolts with lock washers instead of screws. We have installed shelves in the cabinets and did not want to poke holes in any containers so that's why I went with the bolts.
