Beds

Okay folks here is my issue, I currently have a 2005 Jayco 1207 PUP which we really like, but, we are ready to move up. Kids are 6 and 4 so bunks are a must. Biggest issue is my wife is 5' 11" and the Jayco queen beds are only 74" long. I REALLY want another Jayco, but the queen bed issue may drive me to another brand. TV is a 2012 Ford F-150 Supercrew, 3.5L V6 Ecoboost, 3.73, so I can tow around 9500 lbs. Any recommendations?

We had the same requirements with a 6 & 4 y/o, as well as a new baby plus I am 6'1". I too didn't particually care for the RV queen, however after searching around the short queen beds are pretty much the standard untill you get into much larger trailers and we didn't want that. So, now after using our 26BH for a year I have to admit that RV Queen isn't that much of a problem for me.

We chose our JAYCO EXP 213 mainly because of the large rear bed. I'm 6' 4'' , and we did not find another hardside reasonably 1/2 ton towable trailer with an equivalent bed. It also has two nice bunks up front which would nicely accomadate two children.

If you're interested in a non-hybrid tt with a front bedroom, avoid tt's where the mattress is close to an entertainment wall... for example

The tt we have has a floorplan which allows for more room at the foot of the bed (6' DS slept there once but there was room for his feet to hang off)... for example

Hope these thoughts help ya

I have a white Hawk 26DSRB With a Queen size bed and I'm also 5"11". I find the bed is a little short, but I'm not uncomfortable in the bed. I'm usually curled up anyway. You might want to check into the White Hawk line of Jayco trailers. The 29SQB looks like it would fit your family nicely and it is only 7500LBS.(gross Wt.) I Also have the Ford F-150 extended cab Eco Boost, and it pulls our trailer great although the gas mileage goes down..But hey as long as I can get gas We're happy

Folks, thanks for the inputs. I guess I'm just gonna have to take my wife with me and let her lay down on the beds. I have been considering the White Hawk 29SQB and 28DSBH along with the Eagle Super Lite 281BHS. There are no X213's around Memphis for me to look at, but I will keep my eyes open. I think my problem is I am too picky in trying to select the right one for my family, because TT's are not cheap. Like I said in my original post, I REALLY WANT TO BUY ANOTHER JAYCO!

Rick, thank you for your service......... I retired from the Navy 2 years ago.
