Unfortunately, it is a sad commentary on our country.

On our last camping trip, my wife noticed a sheriff car, and an ambulance at the site right behind us while we were setting up. I saw a couple of Park Rangers looking around trees and shrubs for "something". So I asked one of them what they were looking for, thinking it was drug needles. But instead he said they were looking for a knife. Apparently, someone in a tent behind us tried to take their own life and threw the knife in the bushes between our sites!

SAD!!!!

With the economy in the dumps these last few years I find that there are many "campers" who are actually "fulltimers" who ended up homeless for various reasons and have resorted to living in what ever kind of RV they could afford to buy or trade for. I realize that is not the case here but we have become a bit more particular when we choose where we stay.

This Council person must have done a fine job raising his son, what does it say about him and what is he teaching his son when attempts to use his (obviously limited) power and influence and threats of retaliation to get his guilty as he11 son off?

We're too close to the 11th anniversary of that day that changed America to diminish the horror of real terrorists by putting a couple of punks on that level. Sorry, I just didn't like the reference.

Kick the crap out of them and send them home? Sure. Unfortunately, those days are gone and we likely put them into a system that soon teaches them they can play the system without meaningful consequences. At least that's how we do it down here. Don't know about up North.

Two comments....

- CCW - someone getting shot for stealing out of a tent - who runs when confronted - is a good way for the CCW to deservedly go to jail.
- Critters - Had some raccoons make sandwiches one time when camping. Cooler full of food, but they dug down for lunch meat and bread from the Rubbermaid. Didn't take anything else.

Glad things turned out OK for ya Lady W!
