That pic was from the customers reviews on Amazon showing what happens when you remove parts.

Can't beat the good old fire wood. The smell and the warmth. Like smoores over the wood also. I'm old fashion I guess.

I have one and it works well. I got it for when we have a fire ban. I had to use it twice last year due to a fire ban. Got a lot of attention from other campers that couldn't have a fire. Even had the park owners over for a visit to tell me to put out my fire till he saw what it was. It's just not the same without the smoke in you eyes though.

I actually think that it's a grand idea and it certainly doesn't eliminate the traditional fire if you so desire. Most places that we go to are for the surrounding area's activities which will often leave us tired and not wanting to go through the effort of starting a fire or extinguishing it when done. This seems optimal for the way we camp and something to look into.

We keep a case of fire logs in our camper. Just right for an evening fire before bed.
Doesn't take up much room and not like hauling a bunch of wood.
I always preferred a conventional bonfire, but I hate paying $5.00 for 3-4 pieces of wood and I stiill have to make kindling.
A 1/4 of one of these logs makes a great fire starter too :-)

X2. A campfire without the fuss and worry of embers, and like Hammer pointed out, it's generally OK to use in a State or Federal campground if there is a ban on campfires in effect, because there are no embers getting loose and you just turn it off when you're done; no coals to douse or worry about. Should note however, the instructions state the Campfire In A Can should NOT be used for cooking. That aside, we love ours, use it when camping and at home on the pool deck on those "cold" winter nights in Florida! :hihi:

I wonder how quick it goes through the LP for an average size flame. I like the idea expecially with the weight (and mess) it will save over all the firewood we typically carry.

To clarify I like a wood fire. The wife likes the idea of the real fire, but not the smoke and hassle. My main concern is that it actually puts out some heat. The plus I see is that I have a 3, 5 and a 7 year old with attention spans of fractions of a milisecond. This thing would allow us to turn it on and off quickly and not worry about not giving a real fire proper attention and care. Plus if fir erestrictions are in place this would be a cool alternative. I can see a use for it at home too. With a cul-de-sac full of kids, we could have a pretty quick improtu smores fest.

We have the Little Red Campfire.
It was given to us by our friends as a gift. We only us it in areas where there is a fire ban. It puts out a lot of heat, but can be controlled.
There are many makes of Portable Campfires.

I have a Campfire in a Can. It is great when there is a wood burn ban. Puts out a fair amount of heat.
If the can is red it is a Little Red Campfire. Similar product to Campfire in a Can, but less btu heat output. It is less expensive than Campfire in a Can.
There are other differences between the products, only you can decide what is most important.
Also, you can cook with a Campfire in a Can. It comes with a cooking grate. But, I doubt I would ever cook with it.
