Camping......In Style!

Here's a shot of our site from last night. We watched some of the Knick game and switched to NASCAR. We played Super Mario Brothers during the rain delay in the race too.

Well it looks like you had a good time.... except maybe the Knicks game, as our Pacers prevailed!

This is at an electric camp site I suspect. We do the same thing to some degree even when camping off the power grid somewhere back in the woods... Our camp site is lit up just like it is at regular camp sights... Always got a big bonfire going and we like to end our evenings after a good meal off the grill watching alittle HDTV, catch up on the bad weather around us, checking in with the kids on the internet, and play a little on the Ham Radio. Then we close up shop and get under the covers.

We are always respectful to others but like to enjoy the things we like to do as well.... My fresh ground bean coffee pot is open bar to any one. Grab a chair....

Agreed!! We also have a projector and will be trying it out this weekend. We would like to get some sort of drop cloth and somehow string it up on the side of the trailer.

I wish I where at the same campground as you. Love talking to strangers and also love good coffee. What do you brew with? We have the keurig for now because its easy but want some type of stove top perc I think down the road.

jdorant - Our camping plan is geared for camping off the power grid so we run all of our items we want going from Inverters and direct connected to the battery bank. When camping off the power grid we will do all of this in a one day/one night camping experience and then re-charge the battery bank the next morning with our 30AMP shore power cable connected directly to a 2KW Honda Generator. Using our on-board smart mode technology converter/charger we can re-charge the battery bank in as little as three hours of generator run each morning.

This is the time we make up our fresh ground bean coffee for the day when the generator is running. We use the Cusiinart DGB600BC Grind and Brew coffee maker which only takes about five minutes to brew up a 10-cup serving which is poured up into a large stainless thermos carafe. After the coffee is made the Cuisinart shuts completely down so this is ideal for running from a generator. I can easily make up two pots and pour one up into a regular thermos jug. Usually the camp grounds will also allow the run of the generator in the late afternoon so I get two chances anyway to make up fresh ground bean coffee during the day.

The big blue Coleman stove top perc is our backup coffee maker and I grind up the bean coffee with a Mr Coffee bean grinder running from my Inverter.

Man has to have his fresh made coffee haha...

We found the perfect projector at Brookstone. They have a web site too. The projector fits in the palm of my hand, has a rechargeable internal battery and an HDMI input. It can mount to a standard camera tripod, has a built in speaker though we prefer to use a sound dock with richer sound. All under $300....couldnt be happier

Who wants to watch the Breaking Bad marathon projected on the camper with a nice fire while at the beach? I do! :-)

There's something to be said about watching Breaking Bad on an RV. :-) Very apropos.

I need to get a picture of ours next time we're out. I have a piece of canvas painted with a thinned paint mix I found on avforums. Works great as a screen. I have a frame for it, but most of the time we just close the ends in the doors
