Carefree Add A Rooms for Traveler Awnings

Just a bit of information here.
I have been shopping around for an Add_A_Room for my X23B trailer with a Traveler adjustable pitch electric awning and I was told by three different dealers that the Add A Room was no longer available. I am not talking about the Vacationer style but just the screen room type. I finally called Carefree customer service and spoke with Shawn who researched it and found that although they were no longer being offered to the dealers, they still had 8 in stock. As a matter of fact, he sold me one for over two hundred off the actual sell price. They still have seven left so if your in the market and don't like the look of the vacationer just call 303-469-3324 and hit extension 6311 when the taped message starts. That is Shawn's direct number. We made the decision to go this route after seeing several Vacationer style rooms at the camp ground and my wife and I think they close off the outside to much. Just our opinion of course. Shawn also told me that the Add A Room is a better built unit with stronger fabric and screens.

WARNING the upper arms on those are very thin... they bend in the slightest wind.. (I know I have one).. Get some trucker jackpoles, make sure the min distance on them is shorter than the awning is high from the ground, stake one end to the ground and the other end to the edges of the roller tube (wrap a bungee or velcro strap over the roller tube and the top of the jackpole). This will keep the wind from lifting the awning and bending the top poles.

I already use a bungee style hookup for the two ends of the awning tube which are then staked to the ground. This goes back to my prior camping days. The bungees are always a good idea instead of just tying off to a stake.
