Casino Camping

We are heading out for what will probably be our last trip of the season. Last year we went and camped( slept in our trailer) at a Casino in Washington State. They charge $15 a night and have 30 amp power, you get a coupon book which gives you more than $15 back. This has now the 2nd annual end of the season trip for us. Last year we went with 3 trailers this year it is 5. They have 24 power RV spots and any extras can park in the parking lot for free. We go for Nov11 weekend. We do some Christmas shopping nearby and a stop at Camping world and Cabelas. It was a good time with our friends last year and will be first trip towing with the new truck!!:hihi:

I have seen the same thing at some of the casinos here in Michigan. I am afraid if I did that I would end up leaving without my TT.
Sounds like a heckeva deal though.

Early this year the Bride and I spent a few days at a KOA CG in Durant, OK. While it's not a real casino CG it was next door. A bit $$ but super convenient. The laundry and shower rooms were of course bigger but also nicer than our house. The casino has a shuttle that will fetch and return on demand. They will also drop you off at local resturants. Other than needing a few trees the CG was excellent.

We stayed at the Kewadin Casino RV park in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan this past July. $10.00 a night with nice clean washrooms and showers. There was 40 amp service but no water or sewer on the site. There is a dump station and potable water near the entrance. You also get use of the Casino Hotel pool and exercise room included in your price. There was a promotion on when we were there for anyone who had a players card(free), if you stayed one night, you got the next two free. They have an "all you can eat" evening and breakfast buffet in their restaurant which was very reasonably priced. The night we were there it was a Prime Rib buffet which was delicious. If we had stayed the next night it was going to be Alaskan Crab buffet. I can't remember exactly how much the buffet was, but I think it was around $15.00.

There's also a campground at the Ho-Chunk Casino near Baraboo, Wisconsin. We were camping at another campground but found it once we got to Baraboo. It looked very nice. It's been open about a year.

Hey Wolverine, what casinos in Michigan offer camping? I live in Kalamazoo and was at Firekeepers in Battle Creek last Friday. I asked about the the camping and electrical hookups like noted in Derek's post, they looked at me like I just landed from outer space.

I will get a pic from our trip. It is close quarters camping, but we know that going in and it is more towing a hotel room than camping, fun just the same.

Casinos can be fun, but for those with minor children, check with the casino first to see if there's a minimum age for admittance. In Pennsylvania, these are the regulations for all casinos in the state:

CHAPTER 513a. UNDERAGE GAMING

§ 513a.2. Exclusion requirements.

(a) An individual under 18 years of age may not enter or be on the gaming floor of a licensed facility.
(b) An individual under 21 years of age, whether personally or through an agent, may not operate, use, play or place a wager on, a slot machine in a licensed facility.
(c) An individual under 21 years of age may not receive check cashing privileges, be rated as a player, or receive any complimentary service, item or discount as a result of, or in anticipation of, gaming activity.
(d) An individual under 21 years of age may not collect in any manner or in any proceeding, whether personally or through an agent, winnings or recover losses arising as a result of any gaming activity.
(e) Winnings incurred by an individual under 21 years of age shall be remitted to the Board to support compulsive and problem gambling programs of the Board.
(f) For the purposes of this section, winnings issued to, found on or about or redeemed by an individual under 21 years of age shall be presumed to constitute winnings and be subject to remittance to the Board.

We stayed last weekend at the RV park attached to the Little River Casino in Manistee, Michigan. Full hook ups including cable tv and wi-fi and a shuttle to take you to the casino, although it was a short walk anyway. Also included access to the casino hotel's swimming pool and hot tub. Cost was low $20's per night. Also have stayed at the casino in Christmas, Michigan, just outside of Munising. That was just an area of the parking lot set aside for RV's with free electric hook up.

We've overnighted a few times at Sky City, just east of Grants, NM, on the 40. Still pretty new, and the sites are large and level, clean, as are the showers and comfortable lounge. There is a phone on the outside wall that connects you to the hotel, and you can ask for shuttle service and pay the ten or $15 fee. We've paid both rates and had no charge once. The restaurant is both buffet and menu, and the food's not bad at all. I think a CDL gets you half price at breakfast. There is gas and diesel, and a McDonald's across from the casino.

Only downside is the shuttle service may or may not come in a reasonable time. But it's only a quarter mile walk from the RV lot to the casino.

I thought I would revive this old thread to see for the new people to see. We went again in November like previous years and are now up to 8 trailers in our group. Cost for the casino we go to is $15 and includes 30 amp power and you get a coupon book worth $20. We have stayed at another casino in Washington and it was $32 a night with full hookup. I know a couple others in the area have areas for RV parking and don't charge but one we just parked for the night required a permit to stay at which I assume is more of a liability waiver.

I really like Seven Feathers Casino just north of Grants Pass, Oregon. Spaces are large and the rest rooms and showers are super clean. They have an almost Olympic size heated indoor pool and spa building.

My wife and I have stayed in the Northern Lights Casino at Prince Albert, SK. The first time, in 2013, we were lucky enough to get hooked up to power. This year, we had to boon dock. The power hookup was free.
