Chapter 2

Let me start out by saying how awesome this board is. I have gained so much knowledge and laughs. DW and I are having the time of our lives camping. We found a great place and decided to park. This was the best decision we made since getting the camper. We now are upgrading our lovely 2014 X213 to a 2016 White Hawk 28DSBH. The paperwork will be done tomorrow and all that is left is to deliver the X213 and pick up the WH. The best part is that the dealer is 15 minutes from the campground. the White Hawk is virtually twice the size and tons of storage.

This is extremely exciting for us but what a huge lesson too. I'm no finance expert, and I get a little loopy when it comes to paperwork. The dealer we are purchasing from is Interstate RV in Poynette WI. What a great bunch of people. Down to earth and straight shooters, nothing like the folks at Camping world. Interstate told me right out that it would be best if I talked to the CU that holds the lien and work out a deal. Never in my life did I talk directly to the lender on financing. Partly because the dealers make is seem that they are doing ALL this work for you, and it's only for experts. We are with Guardian CU in Milwaukee. Another bunch of great people. They worked with us and got a great deal. One thing I thought was interesting is that I couldn't get the lower rate CW could get but I was not getting all the "add-on's" either so it washes. The dealer also said that the extended warranty CW offers is crap. In most cases it will not cover the cost of the repair. I do have to say that the salesman at CW admitted we would get a better deal by going to Interstate. Mainly because he could find the White Hawk anywhere.

DW and I can't wait to start Chapter 2

Glad you are happy with your transaction. As the former CEO of a small credit union, we always tried to work face to face with our members, and didn't try to sell any extra protection, on which many lenders make a lot of profit.

I have dealt with my CU that is associated with my former employer for 40+ years. They are the easiest to deal with and always pulling for the member.

Glad you got all that worked out. We have ours through Guardian also. Burlington did all the leg work on it. My only issue with Guardian is that if you don't have a checking account with them, you can't pay electronically.

Congratulations on your new rig. And we went through our CU for ours. We have been happy members of the NC SECU since 1975.
