Checklists?

Hello,

I have searched the group and have not found what I'm looking for. I'm interested in checklists to put in a binder. I did find the wonderful PDI list. Thank you again to anyone who had a hand in making that!

Lists like predeparture, arrival, set up, take down, maintenance and winterizing, to name a few. Also, if they are specific to Jayco's and/or 5th wheels, that would be even better. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

there are several campers checklist available online and I think a few printable ones have been posted on this forum ... I try to mentally go through the whole trip each step in my mind and write down the things I will need for each step. My wife and I go through the meals one at a time, and I go through a mental checklist of all the mechanicals ,hookup and unhooking and leveling each time. One thing I see forgotten more than anything is putting the tv antenna down when you get ready to leave. Also since we unplug ours last step before leaving the campground so we are using shore power for bringing stabilizers up and slides in I always do a final walkaround to make sure everything including the chocks are stowed before we leave. Don't ask me why I say this one is soooo important. lol Good luck with the list but you will at any rate have to customize it to your specific needs

Thank you, PaintinFool! We don't have our 5er yet and will be driving from TN to IN to pick ours up. Since we are both new at this, I wanted to have some checklists to start us out or I know we're bound to mess up a lot of things. I also didn't know if there are certain things specifically done with Jayco's or 5th wheels or if all checklists would apply to all RV's.

I know we'll eventually have to gear our lists towards our specific needs, but right now we have no clue what we're doing. Thank you for your kind help. I will be looking these over and printing things off. Thanks!

Most would be generic to all rvs but some things with 5th wheels are different from a travel trailer or a motorhome or a hybrid. One thing I always carry with me and one of the first things I would get is a jack that can handle the campers wheels, a 4 way lug wrenc or in my case I got a dewalt 20 volt 1/2 inch impact to remove lugnuts and a spare if the trailer doesn't have one.

Are they going to install the hitch in your truck or have you already taken care of that side of things

Ok, thanks for the advice on the jack and all.

Someone near the dealer in IN will be installing the hitch in the truck.

I am sure it will be fine ... just take lots of notes mental and write as much down as you can then take your time and enjoy the adventure. Try not to rush the trip , keep speeds at a comfortable rate for you and when you get time try to post the make and model of the 5r you are getting and others can help you with specifics on it

Thank you for the comment because when I read it I thought, "I must have missed that". Went back and sure enough, I missed that comment by PaintinFool! Just checked it out and that is exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you both!!
