Curt and Robin WD hitch tongue brackets

I just brought my 2011 23J home from storage the other day. I did not have the WD hitch at the time we picked up the camper from the Dealer, but the dealer did tell us that the elevated propane bottle mounts would accept the snap up brackets from the WD hitches.

So....I go online and find a good deal on the Curt 17002 Round bar WD hitch setup and get it out to put on the tongue and find that the snap up brackets strike the propane tanks and the propane stand. I found a friends Robin Trunnion WD hitch and the same thing happens with those snap up brackets.

I cannot move the brackets behind the tank mounts as that will be way to far from the coupler.

I have attached a couple of pics to illistrate the issue.

Anyone have any ideas?? or solutions?? Shy of buying new brackets or setup... Apparently Jayco only measured for brackets like the Reese ones....

Thank you in advance....

Small rubber spacer under bottles? Just a thought as I am new to the TT world.

On our Eagle the battery is behind the propane tanks. That way the tanks are mounted farther forward and the clearance is adequate.
