I also agree the OP is not asking for the world to have the defects documented so the warranty claim process can begin. Then the dealer can do the actual repairs later. I have a hard time believing all repairs must be completed before the warranty runs out if they are so documented in advance.

Wow, lots of "bad dealer" apologists in here.
It's simple, folks. If I drop my unit off the day before warranty expires to get warranty covered repairs done, they have to do it. It doesn't matter when it's fixed, it matters when it broke and when it was brought to the dealers attention. Nothing else matters.
Say my dealer has a 3 month backlog. Does that mean my warranty is for 21 months instead of 24?

My service dealer [not where I bought my W Hawk] told me when I was about 6 weeks out on my 2year warrantee period, "not to worry about the date of repair" and that once they opened the ticket and filed a claim with Jayco, the work would be covered. I emailed them pics of the items w/ issues and they forwarded my email and pics to Jayco for authorization. When the auth came thru about 2 1/2 weeks later, they called and I took the TT to the dealership. They had it for about 2 weeks and they called for me to pick it up. All when smoothly and work was as promised. Again I did not purchase my TT from this dealer. They treated me like they wanted my business the next time around. They will probably get it.

His dealer is lousy! I would definitely find a new one. Jayco WILL honor the full 2 year warranty. We had some of the siding that was oxidizing and they fixed it almost 3 months after the warranty ran out. We had the dealer open the ticket before the warranty expired and waited until we were done camping for the season. All fixed with no issues!

Good to see some common sense in this thread now and no more dealer apologists blaming OP.

I just got off the phone with Jayco's warranty department. The lady on the phone was very nice, and she couldn't believe what the dealer told me. She documented my two minor issues, and told me that whenever I could get my unit to a Jayco dealership, I would be covered.
She also told me that Jayco isn't the kind of company to just drop a customer at 5:00 pm on the warranty end date. She said they goodwill stuff after the warranty has expired all the time.

That's right. I had a pin hole leak in one of my rims and even though the rig was months out of warranty, Jayco arranged for the manufacturer to send me a new one, delivered to my front door
They are a quality company that looks out for their customers.

From my understanding, RV dealers for the most part at not franchised dealers like a car dealer is. They are more like Wal Mart...they happen to carry certain products but are not franchised. Every retailer that sells a product does not necessarily handle all warranty work for that product, some may, but it's not a given as it is with a car dealer. Warranties are provided by the mfg, a dealer may or may not commit to do warranty work on a unit they didn't sell. Some only work on their own customers, and take little outside of that base. There is always an option. There are many RV repair only facilities, some that are mobile and will come to you. They may also do warranty repairs, for a number of mfg.
I didn't purchase my unit from a local source.. I saved thousands and, if and when I need warranty work, I would not be upset if they told me I had to wait or, that they could not handle it for me. The money I saved can go a long way to pay for "warranty" work, if I need to pay it myself. I took that gamble and it's not the dealers fault.
From my dealings with Jayco, they will go out of their way to work with you to facilitate warranty repairs. I would not be happy if I paid a higher price at a certain dealer only to find out I get no preference when it comes to repairs. Guess it works both ways.

I guess everything ended well. I dropped the camper off at the dealership last Saturday morning. The dealer called me yesterday morning to tell me it is ready.
The leak on the kitchen faucet was due to a bad o-ring.
The dealership restrung the day/night shade that was messed up.
I had the dealership clean, treat, and reseal the roof while it was there. They also washed the entire exterior of the camper. I'll pick it back up Saturday morning.

JM2C..
I work at an auto dealer and warranties do not expire till the end of the working day of expiration. If you bought your RV on Jan. 1st 2013, the warranty does not expire till midnight Jan. 1st 2015. It doesn't matter if you get it there @ 4:59 and they close at 5:00. Warranty SHOULD be honored. You just have to make sure they write up a Repair Order (RO) before end of day of warranty expiration. And if, by chance, your warranty runs out on a Sunday, they MUST honor it but no later than Monday. Warranties CANNOT expire on Sundays. At least in the auto business. Not sure how RV companies do it.
