Did you travel a considerable distance to purchase your RV poll

We live in west central Louisiana. Have bought 2 from Texas, 5 from Louisiana, and 1 from Georgia. No purchase has been close to home. We do all of our own service work in our own shop, so we usually drive way past several locals to get to a little savings. Locals don't deal, at least in all of our experiences. Sorry local guys, you act like people won't drive a little further to save a little.

I ordered mine from Indiana RV. Drove from Phoenix AZ to Middlebery Indiana and picked it up and took two weeks driving home with the family seeing friends family and plenty of sights. I saved at least $6000 by going through Indiana RV. None of the dealerships here in the valley of the sun could come close nor were they even willing to try when I told them what my quoted price was.

I tried to buy local, but they weren't willing to meet me concerning the deal. I even stated I would like to keep the business local.

Inquired about adding the optional Jayco rear cargo hitch, was told it would be $700 to add a rear hitch, $200/ extra set of scissor jacks in the middle of the tt.

So will be about a 100mi drive each way this coming Thu to go pick up our new 32 BHDS!

I also purcahsed mine from Indiana RV. I would do it again if I had to because my wife and I had a blast bringing it home to Dallas. The weather was cool and such a welcome change from 100 degree heat mid June in Texas. Next week will drag ours down to Port Aransas and spend a few days on the coast.

We switched dealers this year for our new Pinnacle after buying units from the "more" local dealer who I "thought" was taking care of us on our previous campers. Never priced him out until this year and boy am I glad I did. Hope you're all sitting down for this. There was a $20,005 difference from the two dealers. The price of my trade changed by $10k depending on which unit we wanted to buy as well. What is that about??? Also didn't budge from MSRP. I think not! Didn't want to order my camper until this up coming September unless I would pay another $3,500 because there would be an upcharge for not doing his entire order at the same time. The if we waited for Sept. to order we would loose another $1,500 - 2,500 for our trade. I think the problem is that I only go in when I am ready to buy then and there. I think he thought he could make a quick buck. Never again from me... Lesson learned.

We also bought through RV direct and went to Des Moines about 1300 miles. Bought our pop up and our tt there. Nice trip and camping along the way

We bought our last two from RV Direct in Des Moines and the one before that locally. My first experience with RV Direct was pretty good (mostly good) but not so much this time. If we buy again, it won't be RV Direct that gets my business but I've no objection to traveling for a pickup.

The best part of buying in Des Moines though was leisurely camping for about two weeks on the way back home. That just seems to melt away all the stress of getting a new rig.

We live in Tucson and went to RV City in Huachuca City for ours. That's about 85 miles south, but through real pretty country, so we don't mind.

drove 325 miles to ColerainRV in Cincinnati to save over $3000.00 well worth the drive folks treated us like we were family.
My local dealer wouldn't even talk to us after I showed him their quote.

Depends on which rv. First pop up was given to us by a friend that was getting ready to junk it. We drove about 500 miles each way, Ohio to South Carolina, to pick up a pop up that had not moved for years and we had not even seen a picture of. Next pop up, I had an uncle go look at and pick up for me, then we drove the 250 miles each way, Ohio to Michigan. Most recent was only about 50 miles each way, but we looked at it once before driving back to pick it up. So by that trend, our next one will have to be from a neighbor.

We travel 1,500 miles each way. Phoenix, AZ, to Des Moines, IA, and a bit more to visit friends and family along the way. Got such a good deal from RV Direct that we're thinking of upgrading and doing it all over again to save about $10k. I think it's worth it.

We had our 2014 X213 parked at a seasonal site 85 miles from home but picked up our 2016 White Hawk 20 miles from the site. Bought it from Interstate RV in Lodi WI. Got an awesome deal and great trade-in price to boot.

We drove one state over. About 60 miles one way. We did look at some other places but we did not have the time to spend to get up there and it not be what we want. Besides the place we bought from is almost all family and they are super nice with any service I have needed. We bought from Cunningham in Indiana

We ended up driving about 150 miles to buy our FW after going 300 miles to look at a similar one. I'll admit the 300 miles was only part-way to a football game so it was only partially to see the FW. We shopped RV Direct, RV Connections and RVWholesalers online and were ready to travel 1,500 miles each way to RV Direct when the dealer 150 miles away came within $2,000 of RV Direct's price. After factoring in travel costs, motels and extra food, it came pretty close to a wash so that's why we only went 150 miles. Had one dealer 25 miles away but they didn't have a FW that we wanted even without shopping for price.

105 miles one way, shopped around locally and got tired of the sales pitch. On the way home from that local dealer we called and made an offer on the one we bought. The RV dealer we purchased from ended up in our travel circle anyway so if we need to stop in we can. Town and Country RV Center, Clyde OH, Town and Country RV comes very well recommended.

Another Indiana RV buyer. No hassle, fair price, great service and quick responses to all my questions. Jessica is a doll. Going for the Middlebury factory tour, staying in their recommended RV park for shakedown, then heading back to south of Houston, Texas.

So, 2400 miles round trip. Cost about $500-$700 in fuel and a night or two in a hotel. Money saved? Best offer in this huge city of mine was $4000 more.

I too prefer to do my own work. Tired of redoing others after a failure. Besides, my good buddy works at a large RV dealer here in town and he does all my work without having to wait or schedule a visit. He rocks and does not mind when I do my own work and ask for tips and advice.

P.S. I really liked the Grand Design Reflection but you want to talk about playing games. The factory does not see fit to publish Retail Pricing on their site. So, getting a base like idea of what they cost is impossible. It is one thing to play with the sale price, but it is quite another to jerk people around with their retail pricing. It seems the factory wants to create confusion and chaos. It may make their dealers more money but not if they piss off all those who are not riding in their first rodeo. I will pass, no matter how nice your coaches are.
