Do you carry a ladder

I bought a 6 ft ladder to check the top of my slide before I pull it in. It's the longest ladder that will fit in the bed of my truck.

We carry one of these as well. I'm 6'2'' and standing on the top step I can reach all the way to the roof. We have a rear ladder on our unit for roof access.

I carry a 6' fiberglass step ladder. With it I can reach all of the areas that are caulked (antennas, skylight, vents and perimeter) so they can be checked and touched up if needed. I use it mostly to attach the de-flappers on the awning.

I'd carry it even if my TT had a ladder mounted for roof access (mine doesn't). And like you, I prefer to NOT put my ample weight on the roof- never have in 4 years. The only reason I'd need to actually get on the roof will be when it's time to replace the air conditioner gasket. Otherwise, I can maintain the roof entirely using the step ladder.

We do not carry an extra ladder anymore. When I need to use the blower to clean the roof, slide out roof and awning, I use the ladder that is on the back of the TT. I also make sure that there are now stones or sharp objects in my shoes when I get on the roof.

lol....no I don't carry a ladder. I have a ladder on the camper. My wife climbs the ladder and clears any debris off the slide. I don't trust the ladder. I weigh in at 215lbs and it flexes pretty good if I climb it.

Carried a foldable RV ladder for several years and used it maybe 3 times. Decided in the interest of saving weight to leave the ladder at home after noticing there always seemed to be a neighbor somewhere on the CG loop with one. Campers are almost always happy to help out a fellow camper.

If you don't use it the majority of the trips out, you don't need it. If that rule proves not to be true, its a trip to W world or Lowes and problem solved. I can always use another ladder at home so if I have to buy one, it won't go to waste.

baaaa.... it'll be fine. Im 270 and will scamper right up the built-in ladder no problem. The roof is absolutely going to take it, ladder too. No worries, get up there and stop sending the wife! (I hope you were kidding.)

My unit came without a roof ladder and without a slide-out awning. I carry a 12' fold-up ladder in the back of my T.V. that I use for sweeping off the top of the slide-out, and for accessing the roof for cleaning.

As for the OPS question yes I carry a telescoping ladder it is an Extend A Step. Goes to 12 feet and can hold 315 pounds.

I happened to pick up one of these Vulcan Ladders on sale this fall for $44.97 on sale, nice compact lightweight combo ladder, 300lb rated, folds up real slim perfect for storage compartment, I have pics but can't get them up right now but here's a link to the site, for those north of the border check Princess Auto, they may even give you the cheaper sale price.
I have yet to unpackage and try it because the camper was in storage already but it appears to be very a solid.
