Do you have a screen room for your awning?

I have been looking at screen rooms and for one thing they are extremely expensive for a few pieces of screen and zippers. I could buy an entire canopy for less. I have a 20' canopy on my 31 RLDS and we are planing on staying in some state parks where having a screen would be nice.

We really do not need a patio room with solid panels, so I am looking for any ideas or links to something reasonable if anyone has an idea.

Thanks

The first popup we bought used came with one. We used it once and found it just to much of a hassle to bother with.

I've been looking at those and also found they are too expensive for what they provide. I may look into a 10-12' pop-up canopy with a screen and see how the prices compare.

A friend of mine had one and from his experience I'd say they are way too expensive. And it took him a couple hours to get it set up, then at least an hour to take it down, fold it up, and store it away. Not very handy unless you are going to be in one spot for a week. And ask yourself - after considering the time and hassle of putting it up and taking it down, how many times would you really use it?

Now if your trailer is parked on a seasonal site, then it might be a good investment.

just my opinion.

We stayed in a place called Solair in CT a couple years ago and the mosquitos were so bad we wished we had a screen room. Looked around and couldn't find one I was going to be happy with. Turns out a good tower style fan helps alot is much easier to set up.

I saw one of these pop-ups and he bought screening and took it to a sail maker and they sowed a zipper all the way around and included a doorway. The roll of screening he bought was about 7' wide by how ever long you need it. The bottom was like a double or triple seam and that kept it tight looking. It looked really good. Set your pop-up up and zip it all the way around and your done!

We had a screen room for our large popup at one time. Once you got it set up - which took a while!- it was nice to have in nice weather. However, when a storm came through it was a huge hassle because you couldn't roll up the awning with all of the screen attached and the set-up wasn't stable enough to withstand a big wind. Once my husband and I were standing outside in terrible winds holding the awning and screen (which had fallen down) trying to keep it from ripping completely off the camper. It was just too much trouble for us to use.

I'd never want a screen room attached to the electric awning on our JayFlight.

That would be enough to change my mind.

Thank you. Saving this for DW to read.

Eureka! Breezeway Screen House

Woodlands Screen House | Free Shipping at L.L.Bean

These are the two I always come back to. The Eureka has no see-um netting. The Bean one is cheaper and can be upgraded to full coverage via a added accessory purchase.

Thank you everyone for the input. Living in Florida and interested in the state parks, it is almost a necessity to have some sort of protection. It may turn out to be citronella

Check out: camping gazebo; I'd be tempted to look for one with a case (or buy an old military surplus duffle bag) and stash it in one of the storage lockers

They’re cheaper. For sure. I’m leaving looking into that as well.

Check out Ollie's. They have a 10 X 10 pop up shelter for $69. Screen room accessory is another $49. But looks real sturdy. We just bought one. velcro enclosure instead of zippers which I like on the doors. Also comes with a storage bag, but no wheels on bag. I am using an older bag which has wheels on it for easier moving.

Popup options are custom fit, anything else is a gamble for where wood backing could be for trailer hardware install.
Stand alone units still need storage too and might be a faster set up.
Wish Jayco offered options, but bug reduction is a huge plus.

Thank you x2

That thing looks like a great solution and may even withstand some of the winds we get around here.
