Don't tell my wife!

So, dummy me took the battery out of the trailer and brought it to work to do a test. Left it here over the long weekend and somebody took it for being a bad battery and gave it to our core guy. I don't remember the group size. Anyone?

2013 Eagle 328

The funny thing is, I can't get them to take the old batteries for the life of me. Mainly why I thought I was safe. Lesson learned.

Something interesting in this, Are you sure that your battery was given to the "core guy"?
Since as you say you can't get them to take the old batteries.
Or were you just being told that it was given and that it really never was or it just grew legs and walked off.

Did the "core guy" work over the long weekend?

Ya know, that's a good question. I asked around the shop and nobody seen it (of course!). It's ok though. I had to get another anyhoo. It was rather weak and died very fast.

if you boondock, it is a good reason to upgrade to a better battery, or a pair of 6V.

Thinking about a Trojan battery. Expensive though. Anyone have any experience with this battery?

No experience with them but I have heard that Costco carries them in some locations. May be a better price.

Thanks! There's a Costco about 2 miles from my house. I'll have to swing in and check it out.

COSTCO has many different batteries, some true deep cycle and some hybrid, just make sure that the battery you buy does NOT have a CCA rating on it, as that would be a hybrid (the plates are not as thick as a true deep cycle battery)

The Trojan T-105 is widely used. The golf cart users buy them by the hundreds and demand the best quality so the manufacturers are always improving on them. Word spreads fast in the industry if there is something better.
See your local golf cart supplier. I paid $125 each, out the door.

Some people with lots of knowledge prefer the Royal battery over Trojan. Battery Mart in my area has them. I have two of the six volts and they are doing what I need done although I haven't had them long enough to tell about longevity.

So my mind got a senior moment, I meant to say CROWN batteries!
Must have had too much Crown Royal in my past!

What are the benefits of (2) 6V batteries versus (1) 12V?

I believe u could get higher Amp-Hours (AH). So beneficial if you camp without electrical hookups.
