Double Pane Windows Separating?

Just talked to a dealer about configuring a new camper and the question came up about dual pane windows. He's telling me it is just a matter of time before they lose their seal and fog up. Said all the jostling around and flexing from going down the road causes the panes to lose their seal. He said maybe 3 or 4 years down the road it may happen - but it will happen. If you don't travel place to place much then the windows may not be an issue for a much longer time. Anyone have problems with their double pane windows?

Look at this way. Your post is the first time that type of issue has ever been brought up.

Jasum: Do you have double pane windows on your current camper?

I had a couple of Fleetwoods that had that problem. My Southwind had 4 in the main living slide affected. I went with single pane glass with a different seal to fit the groove. Replacing to original with what it had wasn't worth it. My 2016 5th is single pane. I personally prefer the single pane, but I'm sure the double pane are more efficient.

I had 6-7 that fogged up at approx the 4 year mark. I had all of mine removed and resealed by a company in Hudson, FL. Yes I even had the ones that hadn't fogged done, but since it is over 500 miles from my home base to the repair facility it seemed like a smart thing to do. Glad I did it.

I have a 2012 Eagle with double pane windows and have four windows that need repairing. We have been full timing in this unit for 5 years.

No issues with ours and we are out about 9 months of the year.

Would not even think of NOT having them.

I agree. Worth every $$ in both hot and cold as well as noise.

Quick update... Since I sold my Whitehawk in December I have been looking at a lot of different manufacturers for a new 5th wheel. I posted this concern on the Redwood site and no one has had problems with their double pane windows which are a required option on all their models. Does Jayco need to switch where they purchase their windows?
