When is the first snow fall usually?

I looked into Hart Ranch the other day, and would LOVE to make the trip with the family. It'll be at least 3 or 4 years before we could do it, but the post-summer season is our main camping season because of work and weather.

Last year they had a huge blizzard in early October that dropped over 50 inches of snow more in the upper hills area. It all depends on where you are visiting in the hills. Lead / Deadwood tends to get snow earlier then the Rapid City area.

I'm headed back out to the Washington State next week in my big rig. I guess I'll just figure on taking my tire chains with me - again. I had to chain up in BC last April. I - 80 in Wyoming was shut down a few months ago as well. How about that Global Warming? :-)

Between Global Warming and Climate Change we only have a few days left of camping in good weather. Tonight 39deg.,leaving for Pismo Beach and showers are .50 cents for 3 min. They don't have any water!!! Asked for my spot under the shade tree and they said almost no leaves this year, it's to dam hot and no rain.
