Expandable Hoses?
Hi everyone.
Anyone using one of the expandable water hoses on the market. If so, good or bad? Anyone have a brand preference. They seem perfect for RVing. Online reviews by homeowners don't sound all that good.

The ones they show on TV? There are a ton of negative reviews on Amazon ranging from poor quality hose, cheap hose ends and their inability to shrink back as they show in the commercial.

Nothing ever works like it does on TV

We have a 50' version we picked up at Wally World for $20. The couplings are definitely cheap plastic junk that don't look like they would take a lot of abuse. We use it at home around the pool deck and for plant watering. Seems good for that use. I am thinking about getting 2 50' hoses and stashing them in the trailer so I can wash it at the storage yard, and to connect the black tank flush to a water source when we're out camping. Even if they don't fully "shrink" as advertised, it will still be lighter and take up less space than the 50' piece of junk I just tossed.
I just wished the marketers of these things would stop comparing their construction to that of a fire hose. I was a firefighter for 32 years; believe me fire hose is constructed waaaaaaaaaaaay better than that!

These hoses are also not acceptable for drinking water use.

Quite aware of that. But, they are well suited for black tank flushing and rig washing.

Hey folks talked to a fellow this past weekend that said he got great expandable hoses at Camping World, he loves them, said way better than cheaper ones he picked up online with his son in law. Not sure what they are rated for but you can check it out, just passing along what I heard.

I guess the inside is plastic, therefore subject to crushing, so even a bike might be able to do damage. Just a thought Larry
