I have a 2005 Jayco Jay feather, permanently located on my hunting property. Is it necessary, when not hunting, and in the winter time, to close the expando? Thanks for any info, Jim
You are better off closing the slide-out. The gaskets will not be exposed to the harsh weather. Before you close it up for the season, treat the gaskets with baby powder (in a sock and hit it against the gasket, works great) or gasket treatment, to preserve them.
Saw a PU while visiting a friend who has a seasonal site. The PU canvas looked like it aged a 50 years in one season being left open. The following year the PU was replaced with a tt.
