50 amp install is done! The electrician ran the box from the circuit breaker through the exterior wall it is on so the 50 amp service is just near my main panel outside. $150.

Going to do a similar project. Only need 30A service, but I'm thinking of running 50A to future proof it in case my next rig needs that.

Would this make sense - 50A service when only 30A is needed?

Sure, just remember, you will always have a pigtail hanging off the box.
