extra warranty purchases - needed??

Hi - I know there are posts out there, but wondering what if any warrantys are worth it?

Picking up a 314bds next week and dealer is offering:
Fabric protection including rip, tear, burn (5 years, $300)
Exterior paint (5 years, $700)
7 year mechanical (appliances/slides, etc) $1800

Are any of these needed/worth it? I would say worth it if you need to use it, but what are the chances of using it? How long does this stuff usually last, etc.

Thanks.

Wife and I just decided against it, and we will use the money elsewhere. Jayco has 2 years and that was the clincher. 2 cents

Being new to the RV world, I bought the 7 year plan. Have owned my 5er for 4 years and have never had a warranty claim. I guess the good thing is, in another 2 years if I have a major problem, I will be glad I went for the extended warranty...if not, I will just have to live with it.

WE purchased a bumper to bumper plan with our new unit. Was like $1700.00 but provides complete coverage for 7 years with a $50.00 deductable. Most compelling part to me was they come to my site to perform the service (we leave it permantantly parked.) Others may say it's not worth it but for me I'm willing to take a $1700 gamble that it will pay off.

Just keep all that money out of the dealers pocket and open a savings account with it. At the rate that dealerships come and go what are the odds they will be around long enough for a problem to show up? $2800 is a lot for a warranty.

Extended warranties are offered because money can be made off them. If you are one of the few who have the policy and file a claim that is paid then you probably break even or are ahead of the game. The majority of the policies sold are just a cash-cow for the seller. IMHO.
