First time camping

The other night, my wife had a pretty good idea. She suggested that we take our camper and go on an overnight trip to try things out. We have a week long trip planned in July (a short distance trip, only about an hour from home). We didn't have anything going on, so why not take it out and try it. We ended up going to a quiet little campground, also about an hour from home).
The campground was great. The people there were super nice and helpful, and it was super clean. Pond for swimming, pedal boating, playground for the kids, and best of all, it was quiet!!!
We got there, got everything hooked up (it was my first time dealing with any of that, so it was a learning experience) and settled right in. We forgot a few little things (ketchup, a table for outside and some other small stuff) and we got a good feel for how everything worked. Best of all, the kids had a good time and we got away from it all, even if it was just for one night.

The best way is to get familiar with the rig and it's systems. You will find what you need. The routine you get in to set up will hardly change and practice makes perfect.

That's awesome. We did the same as newbies. Close by location. Made a list of what we forgot to remember it for the longer trips.

A pad of paper and pen are required items (old school but it works) on every trip because we always have to replace things, mod something, or get some other creature comfort. Every trip gets better. Enjoy.
