Fit and finish

I've had a couple of minor, but ridiculous fit and finish issues. At sale time, our sales guy actually said "you'll have to put a couple of things back together, all RV's are kinda built the same" which I thought was ominous at the time but didn't pay much attention.

The main problem is these ridiculous whimpy staples that seem to fasten everything....instead of screws. And what screws they use have weird square driver heads.

I had the bottom of one of the bedroom wards just fall out. I fixed it with screws.

The dinette bench just kind of separated from the back at the bottom. And it only has 2 screws into the floor underneath.

I just received the "Tell Jayco" survey and will. Is it true this is all too common?

All true. And usually the screws Jayco does use are driven in crooked and frequently over tightened to the extent that the hole is reamed out.

I've learned to like square head screws; the driver does not slip and the driver will usually hold the screw for you when getting started

There are mechanical advantages to driving screws/nails on angles.

If they put more screws in and made sure they didnt overtighten them, they wouldnt be able to take one off the assembly line every 30 minutes. Quality is not what fills their bank account, it's quantity!
