Fixed the water leak on my new TT

Well that didn't take long. I removed ten screws that were holding the underbelly cover, starting about three feet in front of the steps and going back to between the two axles.

As soon as I pulled the cover down I heard the dripping, which I thought was great. It meant the problem was right there. Sure enough, it was just a loose clamp on what I'll call the jumper hose between the tanks.

That was a very easy fix. I loosened the clamp, slid the hose all the way on and tightened the clamp. Problem solved!

Then I noticed a potential problem. The jumper hose looks like a vacuum cleaner hose. It, along with two water lines, was resting on an angle iron support. I thought that it was only a matter of time before vibration rubbed a hole in the hoses.

I grabbed an old piece of runner carpet and some duct tape, doubled the carpet, laid it over the angle iron and duct taped it really good.

15 minutes later the covering was screwed back on and the problem is behind me.

Im hoping I can post multiple pics. Pic 1 is the hoses lying on the angle iron. Pic 2 is my semi-redneck fix. Pic 3 is the leak.

All that remains is to get some expanding foam and seal up all the holes again.

I'm glad this is done.

Good job. Now you know whats under underbelly in case to have any other problems.
That would have been a 2 week fix at the dealer.

Happy trails,
Doug

Good job! Nice to fix things yourself, and quicker than hooking up.

Glad that your problem required what looks like an easy fix. The more familiar you are with your rig, the easier life in the rig gets.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

In my opinion, forums like this one are one of the most useful features of the internet. They rank right up there with Amazon Prime.

There probably isn't anyone out there who knows everything, but put everyone's knowledge and experience together and there probably isn't any problem that hasn't been solved or question that hasn't been answered.

Thanks for posting your issue and fix. Post like these do help others and the pics are great too. I haven't had an issue but may remove the underbelly at some point just to have a look around...

That's great you were able to find your leak and repair it yourself.
Like they said......it would have taken forever with the dealer.

Good job!!
