Forums
I don't know about the rest of you but I usually go straight to the forum I am looking for and don't look around at too many other spots besides General Jayco Chat. That is my own ignorance I guess. However, I recently made a post of Georgia Good Sam Samboree in two different locations so it would get noticed but found out that you could not make the same post in two different forums. That makes sense because you loose the continuity of the thread. Since my post was about rallies our moderator moved my posts to Rallies. I did not even know there was a forum on rallies, simply because I go to the forum on 5th wheels and don't do much other looking around. Obviously, a lot of other people do the same thing because there is not much messaging or viewing at all in the Rallies forum. Same is true for other forums there in that area. I guess my point is we should all check out the other available forums to improve our understanding of all the information available to us. Well, I guess I have exhausted all my keystrokes for today!

I don't go to specific forums/topics. I have mine set to show unread forums/topics and I read those of interest.

Same, I scan the unread topics I am interested in then show all as read and move on.

I am the member on several forum sites. I have often wondered why so many members look in one place only or browse the entire site missing so much but do not seem to be aware of the "New Posts" feature that most boards have.

Joe makes some very good points and, truthfully, when I'm not playing "moderator", I'm guilty of practicing to several of those he's noted.
JOF, like other forums on the Internet, contains a vast wealth of knowledge for the taking- if you have time to explore it. However, most people (myself included) don't. So we maximize our time "on the boards" by prioritizing which forums we want to visit first. It's also a natural fact that folks are "mission oriented" and target only those forums of interest to them.
I'm a classic case: I own a TT, so the forums pertaining to any other type of RV are of little interest to me. I'd love to attend some of the rallies that have been posted, but I'm unable to participate in any at the present time so I generally don't visit that forum. However, there have been occasions where I learned something from one of these rarely visited forums.

I check out almost all the forums everyday... Most of the parts are the same and a good idea from on person in a different forum might solve a problem I have..
