Gravity Chairs

My last two gravity chairs have served me well - but they are getting worn and the bungee's are breaking, and I fixed them once, but they are not as comfortable anymore. I love gravity chairs better than any other camping chair for relaxing under the awning, but not the weight. I got mine about five years ago and I am sure they are probably much heavier than newer, lightweight models. THey are a real pain putting in the camper and back out, each trip. Not insurmountable, but a pain all the same.

I have been searching for new ones and paying close attention to weight. The lightest I have seen is 18 lbs from Gander Mountain.

If anyone knows of a gravity chair lighter than this but still decent quality, please share!

Me and my SO are very lightweight, so I don't care if it is a bit flimsier than what I have, so long as it is comfortable and easier to put in and out of the camper after every trip. They don't need to last forever, just a few seasons I will feel I got my money's worth if they are not too expensive. I'd rather replace lighter weight ones more often than deal with heavier ones for longer term. ANd we only will be using them about ten times a year - other than that they are stored in camper free from the elements.

Cabelas sells a pretty nice one for around $40 (on sale.) Not sure I would consider them to be lite weight though.

Go get some of the real McCoy, the Lafuma's. They are the originals and you can buy all the parts online if something wears out or breaks. They are expensive but like everything you get what you pay for.

That is my challenge - finding the lightest weight ones. I can find the heavy ones all day, just want to see if i can find any 15 lb range.

If not, I will probably go with Gander Mtn's 18 lb model.

I know your looking for light in weight chairs but the most confortable are these they are 22.7lbs. I tryed them in the store. I'm 6'0 190lbs. My other half is 5'4 130lbs. We really like them. http://www.gandermountain.com/modper...o&merchID=4005

If you have a Big Lots around they have some for about $35.00, I bought my wife one and she loves it.

Its the blue one in the pic. I have used both and they appear to be 'bout the same. The black one is mine she bought it for me at Christmas last year and paid twice as much!!

I found a few of those at Home Depot for $35 each a few years back. They are durable but heavy. We have enjoyed them and they held up well.
