Great Dealer Support

With all of the negative comments flowing around about poor dealers, I think it is time to post my experience. The Designer in my signature was purchased by me, new, in August 2010 and I full time.

The first time I took it back to the dealer was for a leak in the toilet. I had an appointment at 8:00am while on my way to my first host position. They had a service guy inside taking the toilet out before I could even get out of my truck. I was on my way in less than an hour.

The second time I had a few small issues, mostly fit and finish issues that cropped up over a year's full time use. The most serious issue was a very slow slide motor. This past Wednesday morning I had an appointment, again first thing in the morning, while on my way to Road Atlanta for a weekend of race watching. Again, they had a swarm of technicians attacked my Designer and I was on my way in about 2 hours. They diagnosed the slide issue as a bad motor which they had to order.

On my way back to my home base after the race I stopped in as they were opening yesterday morning (no appointment this tim). The front jack motor quit working and I had to hand crank it when leaving the race Sunday morning. They diagnosed the problem as a bad controller and it was ordered.

Now, I know you are thinking I am going to have to load up and tow back to the dealer when the slide motor and jack controller arrive? Nope. They are going to come to my home base location and perform the required six month roof cleaning and treating plus a complete wash some time this month. I obviously pay for this, but at their suggestion, they will bring the parts with them and install while at my location. I will be paying for the roof treatment and wash, but the warranty parts will be installed at the same time. Again, this was their suggestion not mine.

I have absolutely zero complaints with my dealer and I'm tickled to death that I bought from them.

Ed, I think as with most things we rarely hear about it when someone does as expected or better then expected. Naturally and understandably we hear about the bad ones who have upset someone. The same thing goes for the RV`s themselves. There are countless thousands of them that are average and perform as expected but we will likely not hear from the owners. If someone gets a bad one, and it does happen more often then we would like, they will be understandably upset and tell their story. All that aside, I`m glad you had a good experience with your dealer!

Thanks for the great feedback Ed! I have also had good luck with my dealer. I only had one warranty issue with mine and it was the igniter for the water heater. I made a simple proposal - save me the trip and save you the labor - just send me the part. They agreed and we were all happy.

I can't say much for the selling dealer but the dealer we found treats us great. They have gone out of their way two times now to take care of us.
