We have that exact same unit on our trailer. My wife has Multiple Sclerosis, and the steps are just far enough away from the door to cause her problems trying to get the key in the lock, and turn it. After breaking off two keys, and her almost falling when she was leaning forward, I bought the unit. Ours has worked 100% of the time. It likes batteries, AA batteries, and takes less then 5 minutes to replace them. Our batteries are only lasting about 3 months. We had this unit put on in April or May, and I've changed the batteries once all ready. The dealer told me it would happen. You will notice a slower responce time with the key pad, and the motor will sound like it is dragging. When this happens, I just change the batteries. If you put it on yourself, be ready to spend some time getting it lined up exactly. It is a latch, so it does have to be lined up. I took mine apart and used some lube on the gears. I'm very happy I bought ours.
Safe Travels,
