We had a similar mishap. First trip out DW left a milk crate on the floor between the slide and the rear bunks, she couldn't see it. Deployed the slide and heard cracking and popping. Stopped immediately and found the problem. VERY lucky nothing was damaged, it just popped a piece of trim out of place. Now NOTHING gets stored on the floor while in transit, 'cause you never know when it's going to wiggle in behind the slide and get caught...
I like the idea about keeping the cabinets contained, though we haven't had any problems with that yet... It's also good at home to keep the little ones out of the cabinets (or so I hear...)
