Helpful hint??

This happened last trip out in 2013.Somehow on the way to the campground, the doors below the sink opened up.Must have been pots and pans banging around. My wife didn't realize this as the slide was sent out. Before she knew it,the hinges were bent and the lower wood trim to the slide pulled off.She wasn't feeling to happy.Only thing broken was the hinges(misaligned). Now she keeps a scrunchie or hair tie on the 2 door knobs.

I use an o-ring of the appropriate diameter with a 1/8" cross section and it works really well. Keeps all my CAST IRON cookware under control.

I also had an experience shortly after we got our 29ks motor home. We stopped at a farmers market on the way to a campground and got several items. Most went into the fridge but a bag with a couple of tomatoes stayed on the counter. Needless to say they worked their way off onto the floor behind the slide trim. DW put the slide out and said something is wrong, the slide wont go all the way out. Several squashed tomatoes was enough to stop the slide operation.

Yeah short kid. I check the area between the wall and the slide out trim before deploying in case a foreign object fell in their during transit.

We had a similar mishap. First trip out DW left a milk crate on the floor between the slide and the rear bunks, she couldn't see it. Deployed the slide and heard cracking and popping. Stopped immediately and found the problem. VERY lucky nothing was damaged, it just popped a piece of trim out of place. Now NOTHING gets stored on the floor while in transit, 'cause you never know when it's going to wiggle in behind the slide and get caught...

I like the idea about keeping the cabinets contained, though we haven't had any problems with that yet... It's also good at home to keep the little ones out of the cabinets (or so I hear...)
