Hitch Grip
Saw this in Trailer Life and it peaked my interest. Does anyone have any experience with it or any pros/cons?

Looks like a neat product, I wonder how accurate the placement of the tool on the ball has to be, or does it center itself?
I personally like to have both hands on my WDH when moving it around, especially when placing/removing it from my TT front pass thru storage. I grab mine at the hitch ball nut and the horizontal part of the draw bar.

I just use a loop of rope in the top hole of the drop down bar. I tied a number of knots in the loop to make a semi-comfortable handle. it stays with the hitch and has never gotten in the way when hooking/unhooking.

I saw one of those at an RV dealers store last weekend when I was buying some new sewer hose gaskets. I can install my hitch for a lot less monkeying around (and less $$) with a pair of leather work gloves. When camping, I leave the hitch on the truck with a locking pin anyway.

I'm with you. I will even sans the gloves if they are not handy. We are getting soft enough. I have never once thought "Man I wish there was in easier way to shove this in my hitch hole?" lol...
I just wish I would remember to cover the ball with a solo cup or something so I stop messing up my pants !!
Plus I would be to worried it would slip out and fall and take out a toe or 2. hahaha

My only problem with leaving my WDH on is that it blocks two of my backup sensors so my truck screams at me that there is something behind me. This feature is called RPA and I have to manually turn it off every time.

I saw it at the dealer earlier this spring. They had an equalizer brand hitch in a receiver hitch on the show room floor. I was absolutely surprised how easy it was to use. Self centering and locks onto the ball, so it cannot slip. Incredible idea, it is still at the dealership.

I built a sweet angle iron bracket that slips on the hitch shank and has a pair of regular semi-truck mud flaps on it to protect the trailer from rocks and tar. During the build I positioned the bracket low enough so my sensors can't 'see' it. Interesting as you have an F150 as do I. Every vehicle is different and in looking at other trucks some of the sensors appear to be aimed differently but you would think the relationship of your receiver hitch and the sensors would be the same on the same model vehicle.

If you're old like me, bending and stooping really puts a strain on the ol' back!! And those things are H-E-A-V-Y!!! Not to mention messy, grease anyone???
I don't leave my hitch in, when I get to the camp site, it comes out. I invariably scrape my shins..... OUCH!!!
I may look in to this.

You would think that but my f150 has the off-road package s the springs might put the bumper at a different location. I also forgot to mention that when I go camping I also go boating and I have to swap out my hitch anyway

I use gloves with some grippy stuff on them so it won't slip in the rain. However this product does intrigue me. I am getting older and find th hitch is heavy. However it was easier to do then put the bars on for the rest of the hitch

I didn't make my own, but I did buy a flap system that I love:
This is attached to a 2008 Ford Expedition. I also tow a boat (not at the same time as my camper). I have a stainless steel convert-a-ball system, and use a 2" ball for the camper, and a 2-5/16" ball for the boat. The Rock Tamer mud flap system works great, but does interfere with my backup sensors... but given that I have a trailer attached, the backup sensors are useless anyway when pulling one of my trailers.

Now that would be a lot of help for my wife. She should be able to get the hitch on the truck in half the time. JK
I either wear gloves or end up washing the grease off my hands. For me that would be just one more thing to keep track of.
