You have to do that sometimes to get the latch to seat, yes...

I finally got it after having to have one hand on the button to lower the tongue Jack and 1 hand on the coupler so that I can manually push the coupler into place so that it seats properly and latches on. When I unhitch today I will grease the coupler latch and tongue inside and see if this helps.

If the latch is binding, then you pull forward ever so slightly to release the tension on the latch.

Ok let's try this one more time.

If I leave the latch up like in the pic it doesn't snap down and fwd but just straight back but the cup falls on the ball but then obviously I can get the coupler seated to pass the lock through.
. I tried moving fwd to release pressure and that didn't work either. I really can't understand why a 1 min thing is taking 20-30 min sometimes to work. Very frustrating. I saw someone post about not being able to unhitch with the same crazy frustration.

When we hook up, I drive and DW works the coupler. When the ball is under the coupler, she lowers it down, and most times has me "pull ahead" which consists of me just putting the TV in drive with the brakes applied. This is enough forward motion for her to lock the coupler. I can hear a little "thunk" when I go forward. This, and lube on the ball and inside the coupler socket makes it work pretty well. If you're solo hitching, if you pull forward, put it in park and take your foot off the brake, it may be moving backward enough to put you back where you were.

I will thx. As soon as I stopped typing I got it to latch. I think I know what I'm doing wrong now. I think I'm pulling to far back and not giving the inside latch or tongue room to latch on properly. After pulling up a little I got it to latch properly.

I have seen this video. My latch does not work like that lol. You can't move it fwd like that unless I'm doing something wrong. I will keep trying this once we get home and figure this out cause I can't spend 30 min just to get coupled up when everything else takes me 10 minutes to brk down camp.

Thanks again for all your help!!!
