Hot Water Heater

Was wondering if I turned on hot water heater when temp gets in the low 30's if it would do any damage? 5th wheel not winterized yet. Water line not attached. Worried about water in hot water tank freezing. Thanks.

I think you're safe at that temp. It would have to get below freezing for a longer period of time to get to the water heater. I'd pull the low point drains.

My advice would be not to leave the water heater going for very long without a water supply. The water will eventually evaporate and burn the tank out (gas) or burn the element out (electric).
So I would drain and winterize as soon as possible

I have camped in my faith wheel in freezing temps as a matter of fact we picked the trailer up in the snow and then spent the next four days in Grants Pass Oregon where it did not get above 17 degrees never had a problem with the hot water heater just ran it off the onboard water tank because if water was not running the hose would freeze. Question are you using the trailer or is it in a stored condition? My feeling is as long as it gets above freezing during the day for a few hours there is not much to worry about. If it is stored small precautions go a long way.
